- I very commonly use them on tanks with passive autotaunts. They are extremely underrated.
- No one is trying to out speed them, but you want to have enough speed to "keep pace" or allow you to use other slower mods that will allow you to get the stats you need.
I didnt say you need speed focused arena mods, a little slower but properly modded will always be better. Avoiding crits in that event is not likely to be better than 30 speed to keep you team moving, and allowing you to sacrifice speed on other mods to get better potency and other needed stats. - Auto taunters and self healing tanks benefit. Z begs for one. Tanks under Qira or with Vandor (any scoundrel) get huge benefit out of them if they have a speed secondary.

@mlb1399 those are some examples that work yes, but I was reading the OP's post as "should I put crit avoidance arrows on my bh to beat chewie," and the answer is probably no. There are certainly characters that benefit from a CA arrow, but they do not make up a large chunk of the game. This makes a CA arrow powerful, but still niche.
I hear you. At the same time, those are the details that matter when you’re going up against TI, WW and MC in TW.
I'm not sure how to interpret this comment as a response to someone claiming CA mods are a niche. Very few guilds face those guilds in TW.
Generally speaking you'll be fine if you don't use CA mods at all, but using them on specific characters can be beneficial for sure.
It's noteworthy that not modding for pure speed is way more common amongst top players/guilds. So from that perspective you can definately consider CA mods underrated by the masses.
I think more credit is due for the changes to mods. Mods 2.0 has been a large improvement overall and not just the QoL aspect of it."leef;c-1793668" wrote:

I agree with this. Definitely underrated balancing act they pulled off and they are doing a good job of exploiting/reinforcing it with character designs over the last 9 or so months. Although maybe they underestimated how influential 4 6dot health primary mods would be on Jolee ;)- cannonfodder_ivNew Spectator

This.
Also for the chewie event, the speed will suit you better than the crit avoidance
My experience was different for the Chewie event. Did it on three different account with zBossk leads. First account (and run of the event) I used speed / protection sets and was at the mercy of the RNG gods. Other two accounts, with lower gear BH and generally less useful mods, I spread the crit avoidance arrows around and yielded a seven star Chewie in two or three attempts.
Tenacity instead of protection on Bossk also helped remove some of the randomness since he was less likely to get stunned and more likely to be able to do something on his first turn. - I use one on Traya with +20 speed on Traya. It really helps against the constant GMY hits when facing Revan squads
- VaderizerSeasoned NewcomerI threw a bunch of CA arrows with speed secondaries on my OR squad (Carth, Mission, Z, Ordo, Juhani). They aren't geared up enough to really use yet but I'm curious to see if the combined CA from the mods and Carth's lead is enough to significantly increase their survivability.

- Specifically for the Chewi event the OP mentioned though, CA arrows don't add quite as much as Protection (or possibly even defense arrows) if you use a zBossk lead. The speed arrow isn't that beneficial unless you can get a few characters above about 300 speed to beat the tier 7 speed on the event characters.
With Chewi's guard, R2, the CC-up buffs and a guess they are modded for a bit of CC, the event Characters will likely all be over 80% or 90% CC even after the mitigation from some 6dot CA arrows.
With +50% protection and % based protection recovery protection arrows allowed me to do that event pretty under geared. (NB: I do have 23 speed secondary on the prot arrow I used on Bossk)
