- SheriSim4 years agoSeasoned HotshotI do use it in some families that I don’t play much like in some of the premades who are supposed to be rich, like the landgrabbs. They own several businesses, so I can set them up, I hate that you have to own and have to set up the businesses to use them for people to go to.
But most of my families are self made, at least the ones I play with most. - Netzspannung4 years agoSeasoned NewcomerActually neither answer really appIies to me, but since 'motherlode' was specifically referenced, I chose no. I don't use cheats to increase my Sims' funds, only to set them to zero. It's not that I have an issue with it or anything, I just really enjoy starting a Sim out on an empty lot with no funds (usually in Oasis Springs) and then do whatever it takes to finally afford 4 walls. And if I want to make money quickly, I use the first couple of thousand Simoleons to take them to Selvadorada. Or I fish for some dragon fruit in Magnolia Promenade and start planting.
I do enjoy reading about how differently people play the game and it is good the cheats are available to give us the choice. "crocobaura;c-17793265" wrote:

However, 4 could use a lot more long term goals besides financial well being.
It's only a goal in the fortune aspiration. It's players who drive the sims to succeed and amass a lot of money.
Really, though? In plain terms, I'll give you, but sims has always been rooted in basic consumerism. They want pools, new furniture, well decorated houses. You can do whatever, but sims want to live well.- No then it's too easy
- Love mother lode, but am trying to only use free real estate right now.
- fruitsbasket1004 years agoRising VanguardI use them mostly when i'm attempting to build a house for my sims. I like to make sure they have what they need at the beginning of my game and if they need/want anything else later they have to work for it.
- filipomel4 years agoNew SpectatorI only use money cheats when starting a new save. I hate starting from scratch (I've done it too many times), so I usually create some kind of family tree for the sim I want to play with and pretend the parents have an already established life with a house, careers, etc. depending on the scenario I plan to pursue they range between lower and higher class households.
- I use to say yay, but I got to a point where my family literally became millionaires and it got boring. The challenge is fun.
- LiELF4 years agoSeasoned AceI'll add that I also tend to download elaborate houses from the Gallery to fill my worlds with, so even the smaller homes end up having really high bills and I need to cheat money or they'll never get paid. I also don't make all of my Sims work. Some have jobs and sustain a living but others have "inheritances" or are Occults or other beings and they're above the mundane human lifestyles, lol.
