Us occult fans had to wait for a very long time to get new occults, and this will only be the second occult which is fully developed, after vampires. (aliens and mermaids are nice but rather shallow as they are just a small part of a bigger pack.
So I am really happy we get magic after 5 years of the sims 4. And I need magic in my game.
The topic you mention in your title matter to me as well. We still miss some build options like spiral staircases and babies who are more than just objects.
But I want them to be combined or next to magic not instead of magic. The occult players had to wait a long time but now we finally got more occults. The patience of family players is also tested and I hope we will get more family play in the future. Preferably combined with occults in my case because I would have loved to have magical children or toddler mermaids. The younger sims don't get enough attention, both in occult themes and realistic themes.
