Yep mine pay out over 22k each, and if you harvest it and splice it or move it to inventory and get the fruits you can multiply the trees as much as you want.
That being said, nothing wrong with "cheating" in this type of game as it's not really cheating since you aren't playing against anyone haha. I right out use the money cheats for many of my families to start them with millions. I like to play more realistically in my communities and having every single family start out poor seems really unrealistic. I play stories more than just grinding the start. Some of my families are poor and need to work their way up, but some aren't too, some I'm creating a story that they are celebrities or inherited a bunch and having them be poor takes away from the story line.
I don't usually use money trees because it is too unrealistic to have money grow on a tree, not because of how fast you get the money haha!
