Money tree is very ..... cheaty!

So it does cost 5000 aspiration points but it’s not that hard to get those points especially with seasons and a lot of festivals. It gives you 11k simoleons quite frequently if planted in door so you get money all year round. Add copypasto magic you will beat any challenges in no time. We desperately need real estate system to spend all these monies to buy up all properties !

  • The money tree is very cheaty. I have not used it yet because of this. I enjoy it if my sims have to build up their life and earn their money. But it is nice to have the possibility.
And to be honest, I enjoy playing spellcasters who are already a bit cheaty. I intentionally try to tone down their powers. I have a mod so the plentiful needs doesn't fill all needs, they don't get all perks... . And no earning money with copypasto either , that spell is only for duplicating potion ingredients which can't be grown at home (plant) or ordered online (crystals)

The money tree does reward you with an obscene amount of money. It's great if you want to live in Selvadorada (Jungle Adventure) or Granite Falls (Outdoor Retreat), because you could bring a seed with you, plant it on the property you're renting, and once it's baring fruit you'll never have to worry about bills again. Of course, you will need enough to survive the time until the tree starts paying off, but that's really not much. Even with seasons it's no big deal, because the tree is year-round (bares fruit in all seasons). I'm not completely sure if you end your vacation and come back the tree will still be there...I think it might either still be there or will be placed in your build inventory. Either way, you'll still have it available for when you return. So, you want more time to scavenge for artifacts? The tree gives you all the time you need.

I once played a homeless challenge in the jungle. My sim was constantly 'on vacation' and had to leave her official home lot as soon as she arrived. I never had less money problems than in that game. Finishing the temple two or three times a week was more than enough income.
For granite falls however, the money tree might be useful to afford constant vacations.

I have to admit this is why I don't use the money tree. It is in some ways a bit too easy to mobilise an entire money orchard.

A lot of my Sims generate most of their income from farmed or crafted items to make it interesting for me and atleast more satisfying when they do become wealthy.
  • I think it would make more sense if the money tree was a reward for reaching level 10 horticulture. But doubling the cost to 10,000 AP would be a good start
