I have a old i5 3570 and thinking about upgrading to a ryzen 2700 to afford larger households without simulation lag (i start to get lag after 12 sims). Will the upgrade help?
Having more cores for one part does not necessarily speed up the game it just processes information more efficiently and there are other processes that come into play and also one needs an video card that will complement the CPU and vice versa in which bottlenecking is reduced if they are paired right. The i5 3570 is an older CPU and a GPU such as an 3000 series GPU
may not be an effective pair as the CPU may not be able to keep up with GPU as the 3000 series is using newer tech so you would have to look for an GPU from that time period Imo. Yes it may help as the 2700 is using newer tech and it is 8 core but not easy to overclock as the 2700X as the 2700 was built to OC, I am pleased with my 2700X which I can OC.
