More Kids Content?

So it looks like cottage living is going to have some updates to make kids more fun to play! I'm wondering if we'll continue to get more content like this. What kind of kids game play are you looking for?

For me, as a builder, it's definitely themed bedroom stuff for kids. For example,
I feel like in every prior version of the sims the kids have had a space themed bedroom set and boy do I miss that.

But I also miss the kids easy bake oven, I miss the little song they'd humm in the sims 1 when they were just walking around- stuff like that.

I'd also love for more wants, aspirations and fears for kids instead of them just being the basic creative, motor, social and logic stuff.

What do yall think? Will the next pack be generations/school themed? Will the millennial simulator ever cease?
  • I would love to get more kid content and this pack (CGL) definitely looks like it adds something for them. I hope they will continue with adding more with the upcoming packs, I don't need a child specific game packs, I want all the packs to have content for them :)

what I would love to see:
    1) tree houses (It would be awesome if it was tied to an adult skill that would make the tree houses actually built by their parents...)
    2) no equipment games for kids to play with other children
    3) more after school activities

And I agree about new aspirations, they desperately need them.
  • I want to see kid on kid games like hopscotch, tag, jumping on couches and beds together, hand games (mary mack I think) board games on the floor, bike riding with two seater bikes so my twins can ride together. Rock paper scissors,
Pillow fights, hide and seek under tables and different places, fort building with boxes chairs and blankets then being able to play in them.
Parents teaching kids how to ride bikes with training wheels at first would be soooooo cute.
Little teddy bears to hold and carry around.
    Spring horses,

I'm so glad to see sims being able to do more together though. Like hiking together and cooking together. It's one of the things I've been asking for for a while. "More togetherness" ?
I hate those single activities like boat riding lol.
I would die for piggy back rides?

I think this thread should go into feedback though. So they can see all the great suggestions we fill it up with lol

Totally love everything in your post!

I wish we could hike in all worlds. Would be so nice to have a family evening stroll in Willow Creek or Brindleton Bay.

Apparently there is a new group cooking activity which can be performed by the whole family, and kids can participate it in it. There is an animation of this midway through the trailer. I am thrilled about this sort of enjoyable family moment, because it never occurred to me that they would bring something like that to the Sims. One of the gurus said that kids still can't cook on their own, but now that they have some animations for kids, I sincerely hope they bring back the bake oven and bake sale table as well. The blog also mentions that children can learn to garden so maybe there is a group gardening activity (similar to the group cooking activity) which can take place on those new larger garden patches. There was also a clear image of a little girl doing some cross-stitch and running a needle into her finger, so the new cross-stitching activity/ skill will probably be a lot like the knitting skill (where an adult could show a child how to knit and that groups could knit together; hopefully cross-stitching will be exactly the same).

As for more kid and family activities, I would love to see group hikes in every neighborhood, the ability for families also to go on family bike rides and to jog together, the playing of board games (like Monopoly, Scrabble and Trivial Pursuit), playing hide and seek, playing Marco Polo in the pool (similar to Sims 2) inviting households over (and not just clubs) for a visit. We also need more interactions between kids and toddlers, desperately. The tent is a nice start, but let's have fort-building on the couch, the ability for kids to read to their toddler siblings, the ability for kids to build legos with toddlers, smaller toys (stuffed animals and dolls) that kids can share and fight over and play with together, the ability to play with barbies or action figures in a group, kids teaching their smaller siblings nursery rhymes (or, occasionally, rude songs), a train set that kids can put together and play with in a group, etc. Hopefully some day we will get a Generations-style pack which will greatly improve on family gameplay and sibling gameplay, giving us some enjoyable new group activities for families and kids to share with each other as well as loads of new, charming interactions between the different ages.
