Not what you want to hear, feel free to ignore, but...
I was playing vanilla but I finally broke down and installed MCCC. It does quite a lot, including what you’re looking for, but I got it to wipe out autonomous actions that made me not want to play the game anymore. It’s the most commonly referenced mod I’ve seen Simmers talk about, and updates are made swiftly, so that convinced me that I would not suffer too long without it due to its reputation. I don’t know how a mod destroys computers and I have to say I’ve never heard that before. I’ve feared losing game files in the past due to mods, so I always make a backup before changes like this. Just my thoughts for what it’s worth.
