More realistic and affordable ways to learn the logic skill?

This has been something that's been kind of bugging me since launch.

Can we get a normal sized telescope and microscope at any point? Or an adult chemistry table for non-scientists?

It's just cumbersome to only have comically large variants of these objects because there's just not enough space in normal homes for them and they look out of place in so many builds.
Also, it's a bit weird to have a chess table in every household where logic is needed, so can we have computer chess back?

I know we can already read skill books for everything, but that's usually too slow compared to using a skill object/not as entertaining. And the chemical analyzer/chemistry lab are more career specific than something any ordinary person would have.

  • This is also my complaint with having to have the pirate ship or space ship in every single park. Whats wrong with just monkey bars for kids to play on? Introduce a slide and a sand box and some swings. Or the type of jungle gym that actually looks like the ones in real life. The ones we have look nothing like every day ordinary kids jungle gyms around here.

A tip: You can hide things on a lot and it will still get the lot type. I've got one small park lot where I buried the pirate ship in an inaccessible underground bunker.
  • Considering the pc is used for just about everything in TS4, why not add Brain Games to the list of things to do online for the Sims? They could play those games and gain some logic. I would prefer objects in the games instead of more menus on the pc in TS4, but it's an idea.

In Willow Springs park, there are about/at least 2 chessboards there, play there, gain logic and social at the same time, that is if you at least play with some other sim...then you don't need a chessboard in every house. Why?...why?...why would you buy a chessboard for every house?

Not literally every house, but most homes where I want my sims to gain logic quickly. Simply put, I don't always want to make my sims leave their lot just to build skills. I don't really go to parks unless my sims are having an event, like a date or a party, and I only send them to libraries for storytelling purposes. It's also not ideal for family play to have a single sim run off to the park to build logic while everyone else's needs are handled inefficiently at home (from a vanilla standpoint; I've modded this issue away).

Sometimes I just like playing them at home, and it's just weird that chess is only the time-efficient and space-efficient way they can increase logic, when a lot of people don't even own a full-sized chessboard table in real life.

Reading books for skill gains is very slow, not to mention that if you play on high free-will or with mods, sims will often cancel reading their books to go do something else.
  • I'd love to see some more realistic versions of other items in game.
I only play the base game atm on console but i enjoy playing a more realistic approach, and the stupidly large items spoil the game....I mean i dont mind paying 1500 for a telescope, but its stupidly huge!

Needs to be alot more versions of items in the game.
  • @Sim2Spore - What mod do you use to deal with the inefficient handling of the needs of Sims at home? :open_mouth:

I love the idea @Duke_Darkwood suggested about keeping the big prints exclusive to the big telescope while providing our Sims with smaller telescopes.

I would also love to have these. Even just the playing chess and/or some other logic game on computer/phone/tablet would do.

I use Little Ms Sam's More Away Actions because it allows you to tell sims specifically which needs to raise, which skills to build, and to do homework.
  • I would be okay if we don't get smaller telescopes for home use if we could "link up" the computer to the observatory/telescope.
  • There really isn't many objects that can raise your Logic nicely and be fun at the same time. Like Chess is great and all, but apart from the huge "telescope" there should be a whole lot of other fun and useful things to do to increase Logic, I'm just not that good with ideas for it.
