What I always do, is make a copy of your house in your library in the state you want it saved in. Be sure to grab all the items you want to keep, collectibles, plants, food, ingredients, autographs, anything you want to make sure to move with you and put in your inventory. Then find the lot you want and place the copied version of your home there and move your family, then take the pictures or whatever else you saved in your inventory and place them back where they belonged or where you wanted them. That is how I always do it. And when you are done be sure to either remove the other one ( so there is not a copy that you arent using or place another venue or lot on it) and then enjoy your new lot with your home and family.
