Moving Household and keeping your restaurant

I have moved once and lost my restaurant. Is there a way to move my family to a new household and still keep my restaurant.

  • Hello
Do you want your whole sims family to move to a new home? Try moving them to another home through manage households and see if they retain ownership of their restaurant. Save the game before doing this so that if issues occur, you can exit the game without saving.
Simmers have been having issues losing ownership of stores/restaurants when moving.
  • Thank you for answering me. I might just build on then, I hate to even chance loosing it.

    Hello .
You're welcome :) You could either build onto the home, or try moving your sims using manage households but save beforehand so that if they do lose ownership you can come out of the game without saving.

When simmers have had issues with losing ownership of restaurants, the workaround is to go to map view, click on the lot that has the restaurant, and sell the venue. Then have your sims buy back the restaurant. If you lose retails perks, this is a link to cheats to restore them.

I have moved my whole household via the Manage Households several times & have not lost my restaurant(s). But if you move by 'Evict' then you will lose your restaurant. To just move out one person, I do this as well & have not lost my restaurant.

For retail, yes, any type of way to move, you lose the retail store. I have had to follow the steps you provided to get my retail back.

Just thought I'd provide some insight on my experience on moving households

    Hello
Thankyou for your helpful information on your experiences of moving home, and not losing your restaurant. :) It is great that the restaurants weren't lost when moving home through manage households.
  • I’m really late on this but I might have found a way. If you save the restaurant, vet, or store lot to your gallery, then you can erase the other one and put it where you want. You won’t have the ratings and perks, but you will at least have the store.
  • Could you trying selling the restaurant to a sim, then move your family/sim into the new restaurant owners family then deleting the sim that is not yours?
