Moving "SINGLE" Sim Out Of Household?

I want to move my Sims' brother out of the house - but when I use the MOVE action, there's no way just to move him out - it only tells me to move the ENTIRE household out! Is there a way to move the single sim out of the household? Thank you.
  • If I'm not wrong, but you can just use your phone, but have that sim you want to move out do this. Go to move out, and I believe that all you have to do is move and only click on the check. Your other sim/sims will just stay where they are. I would do a screen shot or two but I don't think I can post the img on here yet.

If you're splitting a household, the phone won't give that option. It's only an option if you're moving the whole household. Household splits have to be done from Manage Households.
  • What i did, is that, i have an AMAZING household and have a boy who has a fiancĂ©, they want to live together before they get married, so what i am going to do is move out the girl from the other household (I don't rally care about her family) into the house they want to live in, then i got the girl to invite him over and select "Ask to move in" action. I haven't done it yet, so i don know if it will work. Sorry if it doesn't! I don't know, i hope it doesn't erase the memory of the boys original family, thats what happened when i used the "manage household" button. HOPE THIS HELPS!

Well, it's not the exact answer I'm looking for. Thanks though for your reply - but my question is I have 2 different families living in the same house hold. I want to play the new family I moved into my house hold into another "empty" lot (so I can build their house) but when I go into Manage World - Manage Household - there's no option to move into an empty lot - you have to pick another family to move that family into, and that's not what I want. I want to move my family into an 'EMPTY' lot - but it doesn't give you that option, unless I'm over looking something.

I found a solution, not exactly what I'm looking for - it's like playing musical chairs but with houses - but I moved the family I wanted to play into a house occupied by a smi (that I didn't want to play) and then moved him into a another household that I'm not playing, so the family that I did want to play has their own house. Geez, you think they could of made moving sims alittle easier like call on the phone and MOVE - like in Sims 3.

You can also click on the plus sign above list of neighborhoods in that screen, to create a 'new' household. From there you should be able to move the Sims you wish. This will put that household in the Not in the World category, but from there you can place them in your 'town'. I don't know why they've made it so complicated just to move Sims out. When a child becomes an adult and you're ready to let them go, they should be able to just do so without all the foll-der-all. Oh, well, hope this helps you in the future.

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! This made my life so much easier! You're a blessing! c:
  • i can't make one of my characters move out into a house by herself. what do i do?
  • It really is a pain. It would be so much easier to move out via the computer or phone. I don't know why that isn't a thing. I highly doubt it would be that complicated to include. I feel like the excuse for everything from EA is always along the lines of 'that would impact game performance- so we can't do that." It really sucks sometimes. I feel like when you have to take the time to pause your game go to manage worlds and do it that way then it really breaks the immersion. Especially in legacy games.

It was always so fun to send my new generation or spares out into the world- they run out and catch their little cab- it was great! Even if there was a small loading screen- it would still be better.
  • I hope the suggestions posted in this thread helped you move out your Sims @SpriggyPiggy :)

I am closing this thread now as it is from 2014.
