The only time they seem to get 'cleaned' up is when a sim comes along and eats one (yuk).
That picture reminded me of a commercial where this guy was walking his dog, and he dropped his chocolate cake (the other word gets censored for some odd reason), behind his dog. He picked it up, and proceeded to eat it. A woman and her daughter was watching him, but the didn't realize he was eating his chocolate cake.
