How long before the risk of death gets nerfed by EA?

I finally bit the bullet and placed a murphy bed in the hallway of my ever growing small family house (after aging up my alien son to a teen who shares a room with his brother) we needed an extra bed for our vampire uncle to sleep so I upgraded it twice (spring & spring loaded), two different sims slept on it (once pre-upgrade and one after) zero deaths or maiming thus far...
