In the last few years, my playstyle has changed from spending ages building (more renovating. I'm not much of a builder), making a Sim, playing for about 2 Sim days and getting bored, to playing in live mode more than anything else. Because of this I have SO much in the game to explore, including a ton of careers, so In my head I kinda have a few generations planned out!
For example, in my legacy save, I started off with a farmer/painter living in Henford on Bagley. She met a local, got married and had a little girl. The vet career is one of the careers I wanted to try, and because she would love animals having grown up with them, this made a ton of sense for her. She now is running her own vetrinary practice.
The next career closest to that is the Doctor career. Both medical, and if your Mum was a vet, you'd grow up wanting to help people like that.
The next child might rebel and want to be a famous actress and not have a 'secure and sensible' job. This is how my gameplay is going to be working I think.
