My insane holiday idea (and share your own!)

As we got the feature to create our own holidays, I had an insane idea for a holiday, a holiday completely dedicated to one of my favorite sims!

First, a bit of backstory.

This is Synthia Johnson, a sim I am playing since TS3 times:

The thing is, I have 3 saves, and Synthia is in two of them. In one save, I didn't place her, and this is the save I dedicated a holiday, the Synthia Johnson Day to her.

The traditions of this holiday are Art and Music Spirit (as Synthia is very talented with musical instruments), fireworks, party spirit and drinking.

When Synthia Johnson Day arrived, my sims threw a big party in one of the penthouses in San Myshuno (I placed a nightclub there):

btw, the second sim on the left in the first screenshot is technically Synthia, but with a different name, hairstyle and clothes :D

To top it all off, I led one of my painter sims create a painting of Synthia I placed in the nightclub for the next Synthia Johnson Day :D

I know I am crazy :D But it was such a great fun to celebrate this holiday. Did you also have some crazy holiday ideas? Share some background stories and screenshots of it! I would be interested to know if other simmers are as crazy as I am :D

    Haha, such a cool holiday! :smiley: I love it when things connect to local sims and history.

    I don't have many custom holidays yet. Wanted a water celebration in Oasis Springs, but nothing crazy about that, besides I need a second thought as I figured the holiday can't be for one world only. Wouldn't be a problem if other worlds joins in, except it was supposed to take place in winter when OS get rain. I don't think other worlds like to celebrate water in winter :)

    I thought someday I might make a crazy cult that invades the Goth house every holiday to worship Mortimer Goth. But I haven't tried it yet.

    I would never make this holiday myself, but if anyone is sadistic enough to do it, why not create a Winter holiday where everyone celebrates Streaking and taking Polar Bear plunges? If anyone likes to witness the potential for freezing deaths on a holiday, this one's the day!

    A youtuber I watch did just that :D As there were also some vampires there, they burned while everyone else was freezing. At the end of the day, he had 16 tombstones in his backyard :D

    I once created a holiday called Operation: Father Winter. I made it so that my sim could meet Father Winter and Try For Baby with him. It worked, and they now have a daughter named Noelle.

    @Huiiie_07 I like that idea I had one holiday don't know if it's really insane or anything, I hadn't been playing the save it was in and forgot about it. My family has 'discovered the fountain of youth'. That is aging is off for them, as celebrities their lives are celebrated and since the heiress of gen 7 died while I got curious about death by lightning or whatever so I had a black and white bash for her funeral/memorial.

    It's only six photos and one I used already but I'll leave them in here anyways.

    A pumpkin carved by her son in her memory, I put it on his father's dresser so he could always think of her, until it spoils.

    As large as their family is there are a couple people missing I forgot to have her husband meet, but it went well they devoured the food she will be missed when she passes on. Her ghost still hangs out :)
    The next day was Summer Vacay and I had them visit their "ancestor's" home with gifts of crafts and baked goods, fun times.

    They should totally update the holiday system and make it more fun with more stuff to do, imagine having a holiday where the female sims have to get pregnant, your town will be filled with new townies in some days! or a vampire holiday, children's day etc. it would be really cool if they updated it to this, but they may never. *sigh*

    I have a hijinks day where it's mostly centered around mischief and fighting. I also have the first day of Saturday in winter be a winter solstice where everyone takes the Polar Bear plunge. Though I have it turned off so people can't die of freezing.

    So I installed this mod: https://littlemssam.tumblr.com/post/176261533773/school-holiday-new-holiday-tradition-like-my. Basically, it adds a new holiday tradition for children and teens called "school holidays". What I did was creating a whole week each in summer and winter and created summer and christmas vacations with it.

    Obviously, the christmas tree icons are the winter holidays. As you can see, I also created Easter as a holiday in spring, another day for getting presents :)

    I sadly didn't find any icons that fit well (a sun would have been perfect), so I went with the default icon.
    The two holidays above the summer vacation are the Summerfest (with the campfire icon), which is basically a free day for partying and relaxing in the sun, and "Last Day of School" (music/dancing icon). It's always on the last friday before summer vacation starts at monday, and it's a day for teens to party and make fireworks and celebrate the beginning of summer vacation.
