My "missing" bowler hat is now ladies' only???

If you didn't know already, I had been reporting of a missing bowler hat since the latest patch. However according to this post, that bowler hat is only unavailable for males "because of issues with some hairstyles and never intended for males" and is now restricted to one gender only. The real question is, "Why?" Why must you restrict a hat to one gender only? I thought we wouldn't have to go back to that again after the Gender update patch back in 2016? Literally every other CAS item can be worn by any gender...except only this one bowler hat..?

  • There are also hairstyle that clip into certain kind of tops, so I don't see why an item should be restricted because of something like that. People can decide for themselves if they think it looks okay on their sim? Couldn't the item just be restricted for townies the game dresses?
  • A couple of my main male Sims are also missing their bowler hats and I've never had problems connecting it with different male hairstyles. In fact, female Sims seem to have better selection of hats despite elaborate hairstyles. I miss this hat since the patch and there isn't another like it.. just a bunch of novelty hats and several unappealing fedora styles. Please look into this. It looks stylin' on both Sim genders and hope it will be added back. I imagine others think this as well but are silently dissapointed and it bothers me enough to make my first forum post. Thank you and please see that it gets to game developers or whoever oversees this. I've invested enough money into this game so I hope to be heard. It appears others are a bit annoyed as well. Greatly appreciated!
  • they should create one that works for males and release it in a patch then.
  • The base game bandana clips through some hairstyles for men. It’s really not that big of a deal IMO, I don’t see why they need to restrict it to female only unless it’s not a clipping issue. I agree with the poster who suggested they make a male version and release it in a patch. Just a weird move after making CAS unisex.
  • I see why some stuff could be gender locked, but hats? That's just stupid.
  • If you read the thread the OP linked in their first post, someone did "fix" the problem.
  • There is really nothing wrong when males wear this hat, so please gurus, give it back to them!
