If you want to test it out, I'd recommend doing the following:
1. Have a sim die by poison.
2. Surround that sim's grave with at least 7 sims.
3. Add the ghost to the household with testingcheats. Just shift-click on the gravestone/urn and choose
Add to Household.
4. Wait for sometime. Keep an eye on every sim's moodlets and on sims themselves.
