Click on Email professors about progress
Select the class you lost your presentation board for
You will receive a notification with more information about your progress as well as a new presentation board for the respective class. The presentation board will immediately be visible in your inventory.

If you can't get it back and do a lot of studying in the class, you might still make up the grade points. I have lost it and managed to get A+ with lots of studying.

I really wish we could just order one the same way we order textbooks.

Once my sim enrolled to uni and she didn't receive the board at all. E-mailing the professor about progress didn't give the board in my sim's inventory. Unfortunately even though my sim studied and did all the homeworks and everything right she got F. So good luck with that.
Anyway, maybe you could try to visit the place where your sim moved from and get it back. I think there should be an option to put it in inventory since your sim is the owner of that board. If nobody lives there now you can move in some random townie in order to make it "visitable".

i did that! and it was gone! lol i sent her over there and moved in her friend so i could get it and it was gone

Oh, man I never heard of that mod when I had the very same problem. As it was, I rolled back a save and found the point where they were just beginning that second Term. Phew. It turned out okay in the long run, but I went through angst over it. LOL Oh, well.

When my sims can't complete the board, they just read up a little more on skills and pay attention when at class, and they get A+ anyway.
