My snobby sim got hurt by too many gifts???

I had my sim Shay's granddaughter Stella giver her 5 gifts in a row of pictures of the family that she had left somehow in the family inventory of the other household. After picture 4 or 5 the grandma Shay received a hurt sentiment towards her granddaughter! Shay is materialistic, snob, and family-oriented. The only thing I can think of is that Shay is a snob and doesn't like the idea of so many gifts in a row?? I am really trying to figure out what was hurtful about receiving so many family pictures but it was amusing nonetheless! :)

Maybe she left those pictures behind on purpose? Or, maybe it hurts her sensibilities, since she now feels obligated to shower her granddaughter with as many gifts in a row? Or, getting nothing but pictures is so blah-zay and not up to her standards? We could try this guessing game all day and never understand. LOL Suffice it to say, they promised us weirder stories and on that they have delivered!
