The house looks amazing, just love the textures. Gotta admit, you're making me want to play again!
*also, why is your thread in speculation?? How weird!!
It was moved here because City Life was in the subtitle. I usually add a subtitle about my latest post in the thread.
I guess talking about how not having certain expansion pack features is effecting you is considered speculation.
Anyway, I was really surprised at how the game looks.
I know the game gets jokes about being a tablet app, but it seems like the graphics engine can handle realism just fine--at least for The Sims..
It also looks like modders are well on their way to creating what I want for my game.
Grass replacements showed up fast enough, but I've already found someone replacing trees.
Those are replacement Windenburg birch trees. This person is also dabbling with more realistic clouds. I think I will wait awhile before trying that.
I don't need every tree in the game replaced, just enough to get the look I want.
Add a realistic sky and Fresh Prince to replace these toy cars and I'm good. :)
Playing still feels kind of basic to me.
Really interesting encounters with sims do not happen much and when something does happen, it's not as deep as I wish it was. Of course I am not playing like I should. I am not having couples get married and have children, but there should be more to the game than just climbing the career ladders, birthing the next generation, and exercising your imagination. There should me more cause and effect and risk and reward going on when relating to other sims.
Things happen now and then to make me smile... but man, bring on the expansions and whatever new innovations they plan to bring out through live service.
