Pain and Misery are expecting a foal. I already checked in MCCC and know that it'll be a boy. The question is now, what to name him? I'd like to keep the theme going. "Despair" and "Ruin" are already taken by the neighbors' horses (the friends named them together when they started learning to ride).
These are the expecting parents:
left Pain, the father, right Misery, the mother
Apocalypse? Or Agony?

When the "went into labor" notification popped up, I looked around where the mother was and found her asleep.
"Hey, wake up!"
"What's the matter, Finn?"
"You went into labor!"
"Oh, really? I didn't notice."
"Like rider, like horse..." (Misery is the horse of Finn's fiance. He rides Pain.)
At his point Pain came to check on his wife. I don't know if that's normal, but it was cute.

Struggle inherited all his parents' traits (they are identical: Defiant, Independant and Aggressive. This whole batch of horses are the feral descendants of former workhorses from Moonwood Mill). He additionally got "Playful", so I bought him an extra horse ball.

I'm sold on Struggle, since raising kids can be that. Just started my game and got the official popup, so he should arrive in something like 30 sims hours from now on. Will post pics later.

I like that you changed Struggle's coat to be a better mix of both parents.
Horse genetics really seem pointless, since foals are just a copy of either one of their parents. Which is a shame because sims, cats and dogs at least mix (not always in a favourable way, but it's the thought that matters).

What do you mean by “I want to keep the theme going”? What kind of theme? Edith says: Oh I see, you mean the namens... well in this case my suggestions make no sense, but i'll leave them anyway, maybe someone else will like them. 🙂
I always name the foal when it's born, but since the genetics of horses (or actually any other pets) are totally bananas in S4 (sorry, not sorry), it probably doesn't matter that much.

Agreed, pet genetics leave a lot to be desired. I'm not above cheating, though. I was thinking of using the mom's coat and the dad's color scheme for the foal.

I was thinking of something milder like Struggle, but I like Torment.
Specter or Phantom, maybe Yōkai (japanese)? Guess it should be something scary or spooky. Also the four horse(sic!)-men of the apocalypse came into my mind (War, Death, Famine, Pestilence).
