I created a new game to play this event -- one single sim to do all of these quests. What bothers me (or maybe I just don't understand) is the event/quest "collections". This one sim in this one household will be able to complete the collection of 4 magazines. No other household in any save will be able to do it, so what's the point in having it come up in "household collections" if it's not achievable? My sims have lots of "impossible collections" because they were event-related and now there's no way to go back and get those items. To me, that doesn't seem right.

They are available in the catalogue once you unlock them on one Sim, so it's possible to re-complete later. Here's my plan for my personal save file:
Treat them (and other collectibles) like RL collectible merch. Distribute them throughout various Retail/Small Business lots in your save, like Museum Gift Shops or Camping Supplies Stores, wherever fits for the type of collectible, but don't put them all at the same lot. Have your Sims visit these places throughout their lifetime if there's a collectible they need for their collection. If it's a Small Business, spend the day there. If it's a Retail lot, do something in the open world nearby and browse the shop for a souvenir afterwards.
Examples:- Space Rocks could be on "display" at Science Museums, Space Ports (with Rockets), Jewellery Stores or Classes, Alien Theme Park or Spellcaster School.
- Magazines could be set as displays in Libraries, Book Shops, Cafés, Newspaper Office, Fame Agency, Travel Agents etc.
- Wreaths could be available from Florists, Garden Centres, Funeral Homes and Seasonal Décor shops.
Just have it make sense where you put them, and spread them out, making sure they're displayed a Sales Surface/Set for Sale so that visiting Sims can buy them. If it's just for you, maybe move things around occasionally. If you are sharing the Save File or builds with the Limited Time Collectibles, it's like a built in scavenger hunt.- 87dc672b89d5b4036 months agoRising Scout
Aren't they only available with #DEBUG? I think selling them in retail stores would be a great solution! I'm only now really starting to "get into" collecting, so of course I want all my households to be able to work on all the collections. I don't currently have any "retail" shops but I do have several small businesses (from Businesses & Hobbies) that sell merchandise, but that set-up probably won't work. I still get really confused by the similarities and the differences between "retail" and "small business" locations that sell merchandise. One of my sims is planning to set up an actual "retail" florist shop as soon as he can afford it, so he might be able to display and sell a few other times of merchandise as well! Thanks for pointing me in the right direction :)

No, they're available in the standard B/B catalogue, no cheats needed!

This is so creative and such a good idea! I was lazy and just bought the collectibles and let my Sim put them into his inventory so they would register as collected, but your idea is so much better!
