Nature's Calling Event: Share Your Gameplay Thread (Ends Sept 2nd)

I'm tying in the Nature's Calling Event with my Freegan Sim, Leilani. A Sulani native she started off with nothing but an empty bulldozed patch of land (Reef Finery) the Never Weary and Steel Bladder traits and zero funds. I built her a house bit by bit using the lovely Reclaimed wood wall reward ❤️ and the new glass walls (as a Freegan they saved her from buying windows). She's living off the land by planting the harvestables she finds, fishing and collecting as well as crafting to sell and to furnish her home. All of her furniture/decor is hand made, collected, knitted, fabricated, salvaged from dumpsters or made on the woodworking tables except for the kitchen (because she couldn't find matching units in the dumpsters). I love the Reclaimed Wood Dining Chairs...but they are sitting around waiting for the next steps to unlock the matching table recipe! These are going on her deck.

I wasn't sure about those little Touch Grass Weekly magazines but actually they look really cool displayed on the fabricated bookshelf. They add some character to a nature loving Sim's home. She will be rescuing a couple of stray dogs at some point but I skipped that task because she's way too busy collecting and spending time in a public workshop in an art's centre making items for home and to sell (saved her buying the equipment herself 💰). It's a shame that task won't count by the time she's ready to get some pets 🐶. I had to break her Freegan rules to buy the telescope and hot tub. Aside from the kitchen she wasn't buying anything for her house except the structure itself. I don't think she'll be using the little Wooden Throne Outhouse (she's salvaged and restored some high end bathroom items from dumpsters) but she'll still make one...so guest bathroom maybe 🤔.

I didn't enjoy the Blast from the Past event as much because I just quickly did the tasks as a bit of a chore instead of as part of a storyline. I'm having more fun with this one.
