"Needs TLC" City Living Apartments

I want to start a new save and I really want my sim to be in one of the "Needs TLC" apartment in City Living but I can't deal with the constant breakages and bugs. Is there a way to completely get rid of all of this? Especially the roaches? I'll take a mod too! thanks!

When moving in select the option to remove everything (furniture, walls, etc), then not pay rent till the repo sim shows up and they'll suck up the stinky drain and rat holes and everything trying to collect enough then finally give up. Definitely not quick, but this is the only way I've seen it happen.

Well, the trait itself does nothing but inform that there are objects (electrical boxes, pipes, roaches, mouse holes, and odor spots) that need fixing from time to time. If you get these objects to other lots (mousehole with Cats and Dogs, and there's an electrical box in the Bheedas' apartment), these same things will also happen there.

So, my only suggestion here is to get mods that allow you to move and remove these objects that make Needs TLC trait function.

You can delete those objects with cheats. I think testing cheats enabled, the right click on the object and choose delete object.

@aaronrulz check out the "unlocked lot traits" mod by dorsal axe on mod the sims. Once you get rid of the trait you'll have to move everything around to find & delete the objects such as grates, mouse holes, etc.
  • I don't even know what apartments have the TLC lot trait, although I must have played them all. If it is the power supply breaking, stinking thing from floor and mouse hole, I only found the latter troublesome as it was in their bedroom and they never got enough sleep. But calling the landlord fixed it all, IIRC. I liked this touch at Spice Market, it makes for different living conditions, and my sims would normally save up to move elsewhere after a few years. There's a reason why some flats are cheap to rent, I think that's fine :)
  • There are two mods that you need to use to get rid of everything nasty in those apartments (one of them from Dorsal Axe on Mod The Sims has already been mentioned above). Watch this video on how the two mods work together nicely to give us back full control of all apartments in City Living:

Also note: If you watch the video on youtube, the direct links to both mods are in the video description section.

I use these mods because I love that one apartment with the balcony but hate the Needs TLC and neverending mice/cockroaches, etc. I just want a nice balcony apartment without all the hassles and I can get rid of the ugly pipes, electrical box, and noisy irritating neighbours.

Oh, that’s the fun of moving a poor sim, or a lazy sim to one of these apartments…… lol. I don’t normally kill off sims as some people do, but I do use the TLC apartments for struggling sims. It also helps build Sims’s handiness skill, or you can just call the landlord over to fix things….. lol. I like that different apartments have different lot traits, however, I wish the permanent lot traits weren’t permanent and that we could move them around to other apartments, and that the price of the apartments would change if we could move around this trait. I do love the variations though!
  • Is it not possible to remove the need TLC after you have moved in?
