I think Dates are fine to be autonomous (just hope there wont be incest dates :D ) but birthday should not be autonomous. All rest invites is ok to be autonomous
All dates result in a never call me again popup from the sim who invited yours. The relationship takes a big hit.
Maybe you should interact more with the sim, more romantic actions
