My Dell laptop (Alienware) never gave me any trouble and plays Sims 4 fine with no lag despite being a few years old. I don’t use it anymore because I got a desktop recently, but I wouldn’t recommend against it.
More important than brand is making sure you get a laptop with the right specs and a good warranty policy. All brands can break especially after a few years of heavy use. If your computer messes up, you want to be able to get it fixed with minimum hassle.
