- JaggidEdje3 years agoSeasoned Ace@Greyling, the option to serve the tea could be in a pie menu for the poured tea. We only saw the serving set pie menu in the live stream, she never clicked on the tea that was poured after pouring it, did she?

Does anyone know if the new tea set has "invite others to drink tea" option?
There doesn’t seem to be one, regrettably. When the sim on the livestream has finished steeping the tea, the options that appear on the tea pot are “Drink”, “Put in Inventory”, “Clean Up” and “Put Away”, and there were two other sims in the household at the time. However, the lady who talked about the tea set mentioned that once you had poured the tea, you would be able to serve it, but maybe that just means putting the tray on a table and then other sims will (or will not) grab a cup? She also said there will be special options if you choose to have a tea ceremony as part of a wedding/reception where the sim serving the tea will be able kneel or bow, but that might just be an action performed after the tea cups have appeared on the tray and not something that is done while presenting other sims with a cup?
Thank you for responding @Greyling
It's what I feared then, very disappointing. - Gyldenloev3 years agoRising Veteran@Stormkeep
1st click is on the tray - Options are: “Clean Tea Set” and “Pour Tea” (“Clean” is chosen).
2nd click again on the tray - Option: “Steep Tea” which then reveals the options with the various kinds of tea (Camomile is chosen).
3rd click is on the tea pot - Options are: “Clean Tea Set” and “Pour Tea” (“Pour” is chosen - this brings out the cups).
4th click is on the cups (but this is done by the child sim) - Options: “Drink”, “Put in Inventory”, “Clean Up” and “Put Away” (“Drink” is chosen, but we don’t see if she picks up a cup).
5th click again on the cups (but done by the male sim) - Options: “Drink”, “Put in Inventory”, “Clean Up” and “Put Away” (“Drink is chosen and he proceeds to go into the kitchen holding the cup).
Edit I’m not sure where other options could be, but I‘m clinging onto the lady on the stream saying the words “you can steep your tea, pour your tea and then serve your tea” and hoping that somewhere in there we’ll have the option that Kironide mentioned of inviting others to drink tea. - Gyldenloev3 years agoRising Veteran

@Kironide - yeah, it doesn’t look too promising, I’m afraid, if dreaming of a “regular” tea party. - JaggidEdje3 years agoSeasoned AceAh, very nice. I didn't catch the 4th and 5th clicks when watching the live stream and never rewatched it. Thank you for that additional insight.
I'm a little more disappointed now, because I was holding out hope we'd be able to serve it, or at the least offer a cup to another sim.
I have the same disappointment with all of the drinks in the game currently though, so I guess I'm used to it. :(
Thank you for the thorough response, @Greyling. - Gyldenloev3 years agoRising VeteranYeah, I know what you mean. I recently “discovered” the lemonade tray(?) and thought it was such a cute set, but thought it was too bad that my sim was the only one who actually picked up a glass. It would be really nice if they could at least add the option to these trays that we have with the meals of calling other sims to join, if we can’t get the option of offering another sim a glass or a cup.
- KaraGaelford3 years agoSeasoned AceThank you both for your additional information.
It's such a pity. I love tea in the game. I love the variety of options available, but I'd just really like to be able to offer my sim guests some liquid refreshments when they visit! Is that really so unusual? Maybe I'm just influenced by my rl culture. Sigh. - JaggidEdje3 years agoSeasoned Ace@Kironide Good news, there is a "Serve Tea to.." option in the pie menu for the new tea set, shared in another thread by @Simgirl1010:
https://i.imgur.com/jEG3N0g.png - The serve to option is available on the poured cups of tea. Not the teapot.

Thanks for clarifying. That's what I had suggested might be the case previously in the thread; I didn't think she'd clicked on the cups in the livestream so that we could see it.
Good to now it is indeed an option!
