No. It is a new feature that comes with the EP. These are challenges that we can select in the batch characteristics panel. The challenge we know so far is the food challenge (in which we will have to have the ingredients to cook and the refrigerator will not magically fill) There is also an off-grid challenge, this is from the base game. And the third challenge we know is about foxes, they will steal chicken eggs from us.
There will also be challenges from other packages although we do not know those yet.

Ah, ok. I haven't been closely following news on the Cottage Living EP as it isn't of great interest to me. Good to know, though. Thanks!
