I continue to be flabbergasted that nobody on the EA TS4 team is acknowledging the bug where editing Sims in CAS with extra traits can lead to a game breaking bug
Hi @AalyahReed
This bug is open on AHQ, EA's official bug tracking site
https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/OPEN-Wrong-names-and-CAS-Corruption-after-gaining-a-4th-trait/td-p/12395752
EA reads everything on AHQ and uses it as input for bug testing/fixing. The reports with hundreds of me-toos get more attention. This one has over 200 right now.
Moonlightsimmer posted a workaround on that thread: deleting the file "notify.glob" in the Sims 4 folder. Seems to force a cache clearing of some kind. You do have to keep deleting that file every time you edit a sim with extra traits in CAS.
@Jyotai posted a workaround, which results in the extra trait getting lost, but, it prevents the household and save from getting broken:
A work around to this bug:
If you go into CAS and notice the of the 4th trait, you can hit the 'reroll traits' button to get the sim set to 3 traits, then manually put in the 'proper three' that you want there. You will lose the 4th trait, but now the sim can be safely edited and saved.
Check every member of the household and reroll them before making any other edits.
If you edit ANYTHING else before rerolling, you will corrupt your file as per this bug, so exit out right away without saving.
