I think she's refering to supporting the game with new content, because in that case, even TS2 is still supported via Origin... for 17 years (yes, with some tricks for nowdays computers).
When she said "successful games that could live for five years", is refering about DLCs, for example
Street Fighter V (2016-2021) or
Age of Empires II HD (2013 to 2019, without counting DE or the original 1999 relase).
If TS5 will be on-line or story focused, I think EA will release all what they have before that change that can take years to be a reality, so TS4 will be the last game of the series with this type of gameplay or expansions/DLC schema.
That's why after Batuu they're listening more to the players, because they know if TS4 didn't sells wells or it's abbandoned for past games (mostly piracied) or new proijects like Paralives, TS5 will never happen
