New Point of View
So, while waiting for DU, I was playing a fake university (combination of high school and dorms) with some of Lilsimsie's teen sims. And, by some, I mean all 29 of them. Anyways, I found out that university doesn't work well for rotations, and decided that I had to narrow it down to just a few sims.
I went to my mom for help. First, I showed her Maggie. She immediately took a liking to her. Then, I showed her Carter, Maggie's boyfriend. Due to Slice of Life, he had acne, and she pointed that out, as well as his blue hair. Then, I showed her Delilah, the snooty rich mean girl. She immediately said, "Delilah and Carter should get married." I was shocked! The art geek and the popular girl?! "Why?" I asked. "Because their pimples are in the same places." She answered.
I checked and, sure enough, they had matching acne. Not only that, but they also shared a trait, an aspiration, and two "distinguished" (level 3 or higher) skills! Carter had more in common with Delilah than he did with his own girlfriend!
The next sim I showed her was Arnie. My mom immediately said, "Arnie should be with Maggie." I was confused, but I figured that maybe it was because Maggie and Arnie had similar personalities to her and my dad. Well, to my surprise, Arnie and Maggie, although not having any common traits, were both distinguished in mischief AND writing! And they would be kind of cute together...
I showed my mom the other sims, but her interest declined after the first four, and she fell asleep before I could show her all 29. However, by now, I had an idea. I moved Maggie, Carter, Delilah, and Arnie off "campus" into Domus Familiaris in Brindleton Bay. Then, I planned to keep playing like I had been previously, but with my mom's pairings instead of my own.
And that's how I chose which sims to send to university! A new point of view, especially from someone older and wiser, can do wonders!
