This thread is used by new users to ask questions a lot, and there are a few experienced users who pop in to answer questions. What would you want to do differently with a new thread? Just to be a more obvious place to ask questions? Also have an updated list of tips/tricks/FAQs in the first post?

Perhaps the thread just needs to be renamed and pinned to make it clear that it is the place to ask questions?
I think this is it. The title seems more “how to” and doesn’t exactly indicate that it’s a place to ask questions. Of course members will need to be active there so they can get timely answers.

You don’t need to apologize. We’ve had several situations lately of new members struggling to find information. I’ve administered some forums in the past, and this is the kind of question you’re always asking. How can we make this better for the new member?
