New Sims Delivery Express (1/10/22 or 10/1/22)

I have to somewhat agree. I know a lot of people are happy to see their culture in game and that's also the route the sims 4 is taking, so that's fine by me. I don't mind it. But I don't have a lot of personal use for them since I choose to keep everything as fictional as possible. And then it always becomes about how "accurate, right or wrong" a piece of clothing or culture is instead of sharing all the creative uses for a new item! Everyone instead is scared to offend anyone else by using an item a certain way or not liking it.

It can be confusing and maybe a bit difficult if something is unfamiliar to you, but hanbok are just clothes. They're not any more fictional or less fictional than most of the other clothes in the game. Is a gown or a tuxedo particularly fictional or non-fictional? Hanbok are similar in that they tend to be worn on special occasions, but they're not scary or meant to offend. I think it's just cultural unfamiliarity that creates some tension, but EA is bringing in completely normal things that may just be unfamiliar to players from a Western culture. Also, the reason people may react about something being "accurate" or not is because if something is very familiar, it's easy to tell if it's right or not, and if it's not, it's just strange and maybe disappointing. For example, if the dev team gave the below as a "regular" wedding dress, people would probably say something.


If your Sims have holidays like Lunar New Year or Chuseok or are reenacting history, then hanbok may suit them well for those circumstances. If not, well... Simmers will have to be creative or maybe this update isn't for them. But I don't think people need to be so stressed about offending others because of how their Sims wear the clothes in the game. If there's an issue, it's EA that's going to be flamed, not players.
