I don't see what is wrong with dressing any sim in any garment.
Irl, my mum used to own a Cheongsam which she got from China, it was beautiful. There's nothing Chinese about my mum.
I have a white sim in game who wears a sari, I think they are beautiful and so does she, so why not?
