I was doing it anyway at my sim's clothing boutique and the wardrobe closest, but it's nice to have it as an official career.
It should offer me much more flexibility because now I can choose to have her work at home, at her business, or at the off-screen rabbit hole.
I'm hoping it'll allow that much flexibility. I've never played the detective or doctor careers because I'm not all that interested in doing someone else's job. Also, I normally give my Sims jobs to keep them out of my hair while I play the rest of the family.
With the scientist career, you can still advance without joining your Sim - I'm hoping this career will be similar. The stylist career will surely fit the storyline for one of my Sims, and it sounds like the sketchpad will be a fun career bonus.
The stylist career is not active like the detective, doctor, and scientist. You don't join your sim at work. Instead you have the option of sending them to the rabbithole or working from home. Like the City Living careers.
