I made Newcrest a combination of Victorian and "old magic". I wanted to expand Forgotten Hollow and Glimmerbrook themes and found that they work really well together for an eccentric town if I split up the neighborhoods to each have specific designs and styles. I download lots from the Gallery because I'm not a great builder but even finding the right houses on there takes a fair amount of time.
I've also put in a large fancy museum and winter park by the water in the Victorian area, and some magic venues like a meeting pub, a magical Library, a witch shop and a medieval-ish style restaurant in the eccentric magical areas.
Newcrest has become a fun neighborhood to play around in so I like how it turned out.
