When in doubt, I look at the non-playable lots/buildings in the world and base my builds on that particular style. For some reason Newcrest has always given me a New Orleans suburb vibe (not sure if that's legit though) with it's distant skyscrapers, trolley, and mix between newer suburban and modern houses near the city, with the rest of the world dotted with historic houses built with double porches and rod iron fences.
Oh, and I didn't know until taking screenshots just now, but there is also a golf course!
