The last three packs we got- the kits- had absolutely nothing to do with the occult. And we also got bunk beds recently, for free, so you can't say we never get family gameplay. Honestly, almost anything can be family game play depending on the family you're playing. Bowling? A fun family outing. Journey to Batuu? Spin it as a theme park! Even hauntings can be used for family gameplay if you really want to- hey, I made it work when the pack first came out, and I plan to reuse it in a generation or two.
Family gameplayers get almost everything, because (with few exceptions?) they can use anything. Besides, as said above, the sim gurus have nearly confirmed we'll get generations someday, so does it really matter what is released between now and then?
Anywaaaaaaaaay......I want faeries :p .
On which planet is vacuuming, retro sport outfits and a farmstyle kitchen family gameplay?! Bunk beds can be used for University and military gameplay too with YA, especially the loft beds. So this is no dedicated family gameplay. This is random gameplay usable for everyone.
I am so tired of occult stuff. I was so disappointed with Paranormal, although it was very well made, I don't play with that kind of stuff and getting yet another occult GP or even EP means more than 6 months without content I use. The vacuuming not counted, this is like no gameplay at all. We haven't had family gameplay since 2017 and Parenthood. And when we got Kids Stuff and toddler stuff, stuff packs were still bad and not as refined as and containing so much gameplay like Paranormal. Kids Stuff and Toddler Stuff were a JOKE compared to Paranormal!
The only family gameplay we really got was with Parenthood. This game almost offers nothing for family players and it's really time it does. I am slowly using interest, haven't played for weeks, waiting for new content I can use."Dakota88;c-17864688" wrote:

I don't want to ignite a fire here, but I'd like to point out that the Sim gurus have essentially confirmed that Generations is coming at some point. They said so in the last live stream. So why not allow other types of gameplayer their portion of fun without umbrage? If it is indeed supernatural gameplay this time, which we can't currently confirm. It is the polite and civil thing to do.
Because we family players haven't had dedicated content since 2017 and Parenthood, so there's that, while you had Realm of Magic & Paranormal, not counting Batu as I know many occult players dislike it and don't see it as an occult pack (it's not, it's a Disney World Batu advertisment pack).
@Dakota88 Seasons had a lot of family gameplay, and several packs since then can be integrated to create more "family" oriented gameplay. Even Snowy Escape had some family stuff you can do. Like with the new Rental lots and the new places to visit you can get your family on vacation. A pack doesn't have to be family oriented to have family gameplay.
I don't want to sound rude or anything but I feel like, if you want to play more family oriented you can try to use features from packs to create more gameplay. If you want to play an occult there is literally nothing you can do except for relying on mods. Also I don't get why in the Sims 4 we suddenly need "family dedicated" packs, when in the past we could just use all the features we got with all the different packs to create new family gameplay scenarios.
Also a lot of family content should have been included in the base game like in all previous games, so if you're a family player who feels like the game doesn't have enough gameplay, then complain to EA about the base game, because family gameplay should be base game content.
I would love more packs focused exclusively on families but poor occult players have nothing else to rely on for supernatural gameplay other than mods.- logionXSeasoned Hotshot

Anyone else happy with anticipation at the prospect of possibly seeing an announcement next week (Monday?) for a new pack (no matter what it may or may not be)? Or are we just reading too much into the gurus twitter posts and getting ourselves all giddy for no reason?
I think it's just a joke, mostly because the hint is a response to SimGuruFrost and SimGuruGeorge could not have known what he would have responded. SimGuruGeorge have hinted about packs in the past though. - @SimmerGeorge
Packs coming with realistic gameplay deliver no dedicated family gameplay (like Seasons or Snowy Escape for example). They can be used for family gameplay (just as they can be used for occult gameplay), but you can't compare it to a dedicated pack. And it wasn't really a lot, so you can't use THAT much of it for family gameplay in particular.
We lack basic group interactions for family gameplay, kids can't play together except when they use the doll house or the lego table. Kids can't do much being kids at all.
"Poor occult players" have got 3 dedicated packs while family players had 1 (!!!) more than 4 (!!!) years ago. You can't really count the 2 stuff packs which came with almost no to very little gameplay. They aren't compareable to Paranormal! - Sigzy_29New Spectator

Kits are extremely small and only one of them added any gameplay and it was vacuums, which toddlers can't use, babies can't use, and children can only use the small ones. Journey to Your Butt has nothing that kids can use and Paranormal stuff is occult/quirky related gameplay. And no, Guru's didn't confirm Generations or cars, they said they knew we wanted but that they had nothing to share with us about them, meaning they probably aren't working on those features at all. That's not confirmation that it's coming, and even if it was, so what?
It's really shitty how some players here treat others. Why are people excusing the lack of family gameplay in a lifesim, which has babies that can't even be moved from bassinets? This whole shtick of "occult players" trying to pass over people who like more lifesim gameplay is getting pretty old and petty. You literally want every pack to be about occults. Paranormal stuff was already on the occult side and so was Journey to Your Butt, so I don't think it's unreasonable for people to want extra family gameplay afterwards. Anyways....
Just be happy if it's fairies, but don't go around excusing the lack of packs that are family oriented because "everything is family oriented", it's not. - AncientMuse2Seasoned Rookie

That's what has me leaning more towards it not being a joke.... SimGuruFrost likes to toss out the hints usually too. He has fun throwing us a bone every once in a while when something new is soon coming out. So between these two pranksters and their love for throwing us little tidbits to unscramble amongst ourselves, maybe there really is something to these particular twitter posts? - catloverplayerSeasoned AceI'm going to go as far to say as we'll probably get an EP Teaser Monday and a full Trailer Tuesday. I'm calling it right now.

I hope it's not yet another occult pack. I didn't need Paranormal, and another pack I don't use anything from, especially after such a long dry phase without any new content, kits not counted?
I hope it goes more like this:
X world only works if you are playing with (pre)teen sims and the new highschool feature.
Whilst I don't mind occult packs (I was super hyped for ROM and Paranormal), there does need to be a balance. I would find it a bit unfair to the players who wish to play more "normal" or linear gameplay (generations/farm/whatever else is highly anticipated) to have waited a few months for another pack only for it to be fairies related (or another occult), considering that we've already had Paranormal a few months ago, and the last Game Pack to be released was Star Wars. :unamused:
I mean, I see your point and I do agree that some balance is needed. But please remember, occult Players only tend to get packs aimed at them every two years (2017, 2019, and now 2021) realistic players, with the exception of Batuu allpacks catered to them last year and always get at least one realistic pack a year. While it may seem a bit unusual to get 2 occult themed packs right away, Paranormal didn't actually add any occult life states sooo it could very well be occult-themed (which I would love)- PhonecallzNew Spectator
