Maybe an english murder mystery inspired by the Midsummer murders ;)
She could be a Miss Marple (Christie) who did live in an English village, St Mary Mead, and solved murders but Miss Marple was a sweet old lady. There were definitely some bossy old ladies living there though. It would be a nice gaming pack but I doubt they'd do it in this pack. I could see Mrs Crumplebottom at a parish meeting though! - NightwalkerArk4 years agoNew AcePlaceable lakes and swamps. That would be something I'd want in a rural setting.
And about time. Been waiting for news. And if mrs Crumplebottom in all her glory returns.. I have some unfinished business with you, you stubborn old lady fighter. - From what I recall, they said Windenberg, while primarily inspired by German towns (especially the old town), the gurus stated that parts were inspired by other parts of Europe, including Britain, more evident more in the rural neighbourhood. Like San Myshuno, Windenberg was a bit of a blob world of similar cultures, though since, they have gone with much more culturally consistent worlds with Mt Komerobi and Evergreen Harbour being examples.
Britechester was also based on Britain (I recall people speculating that UBrite was based architecturally on the University of Manchester), however given how American the world's gameplay is (majors, electives, GPAs, dormitories with shared rooms and lack of cooking facilities, spirit squads, term papers, expensive textbooks, professors instead of lecturers etc), it probably would have been better off in a Boston inspired world with an MIT and Harvard themed universities.
I'm hoping that like Mt Komerobi, this world will be more culturally unique and researched, including school uniforms. From the sounds of it, we are probably getting a more homesteading/smallholder vibes like the BBC's the Goode Life, rather than full scale farming. "Simburian;c-17903136" wrote:

Looks like it's gonna be the 3rd UK-inspired world. We have Windenburg and the town in Discover University that are UK-inspired.
You might think they are but we British know that Windenberg is nothing like any town in Britain, more like one on the European Continent somewhere. and the town in Discover University is only what an American thinks a university town is like here. It plays more like an American university.
I live in Britain and I'd disagree, imo a lot of parts of Windenburg represent Britain pretty well. Obviously it's based on Germany but the countries are very close and there is a lot of crossover. The main area doesn't really represent us at all but the rural neighborhood specifically I'd say is very similar to a game version of rural England, and the island and ruins areas are very reminiscent of what you'd find in Scotland. Plus there's also pubs and some British food options
I'd say Britechester is largely accurate as well, the city based campus does remind me of my own UK campus and a lot I've visited and the old one is a replica of Cambridge. The gameplay systems and dorms are pretty Americanised but the world is pretty accurate to Britain- JemmaTheSimmer4 years agoNew Ace

I'd say the countryside in Windenburg could be any number of places. I wouldn't call it specifically British (or anywhere else), I would say it is pretty generic tbh. I don't know the Scottish Islands well enough to comment on that area. Overall I would say Windenburg has a Germanic vibe, from the name, the names of each area, the looks and names of the townies. None of those seem British at all to me. Behr, Bjergson, Windslar, Olde Platz, etc. - none of them seem British.
Britechester definitely does feel British to me , at least University of Britechester and Gibbs Hill do, could be based on a number of University towns. Foxbury much less so though. The game systems are less British, no ovens in dorms, the elective system, etc. - it is fun but doesn't feel so British. Also 'UBrite' as a name is very non-British, it should be 'UoB' in my (probably very bias) opinion.
Overall though Britechester feels like a British University city, and Henford-on-Bagley sounds like a small countryside village. Based in the same country yes, but very different places. As someone who has lived in both they are very different in atmosphere, the people who live there, the environment and such. I'm not worried about it being too similar.
I could be bias, though tbh anything non USA based is good in my opinion. - handelgamer4 years agoSeasoned AceI live within the UK now so an English countryside immedately bumps this expansion up into the very interested pile. Still will always give it a month for bugs and stuff.
I kinda don't know if there will be actual farming, but I do like the idea of maybe getting faries in it. Fae are quite important to folklore around here. And maybe horses. -shrug- Neither farming or horses are big on my list but hey, it'll be nice for those that want them.
I just mentioned the vague idea of that sort of horse owning, rowboat thing and my Scottish husband said "TOFF COUNTRY!" -looks up slang- Mm. Yep. Yep. "Peral;c-17903205" wrote:

I am so glad that I am not the only one whose mind immediately jumps to Midsomer Murders whenever "small English towns" are mentioned. :D- Henford on Bagley is an interesting name, cos 'x on y' normally means 'y' is a river, but Bagley doesn't sound like river - it sounds like a town on another town.
There are tons of -ley places, especially here in Yokshire. A fair few -fords, too. I've heard it said that '-ley' indicates the presence of ley-lines. - Cars? ?

https://twitter.com/JRmilek/status/1402010709819637762?s=19 - I'm very excited now. I thought when that tile came up on the Sims.com it might be a sign the announcement was coming soon, because they normally don't like to say ANYTHING about a pack until they're ready to announce it. And now the reveal is in three days. I think there's a good chance this EP is going to come out in June now - it'd be a break from the announcement period they usually have for EPs, but they do love to put EPs out in June. I'm hopeful the reveal will say that the release is in just a few weeks.
