Nightmare Revisited With the Latest Content Patch!

I'm vexed beyond belief. I took the time to patch, twice in this last week. Mind you, I'm down to the use of only two mods. I'm frankly afraid to add anything more to my game, as it took three days to...

It said you have a content patch available, hit refresh to download. I have auto updates for my game set to off, but the auto updates for Origin on. Frankly, I never noticed anything downloading at all, so if it was Origin. A) Why when it's set for auto-update did I get this message? and B ) why is my game now borked? I haven't changed anything in my Mods folder, either. Same as when it was working. I'm totally vexed and bewildered.
