No hate, but how can a game from 2014 have such terrible AI?

This is why mods can do just that. The devs can try, though they sadly fall short of AI tweaking. My Sims doesn't know when to stay seated when having meals and would rather binge-watch TV while having their breakfast/lunch/dinner. It's a monotonous chore.
