I would love to see mermaids and fairies in the game! I was so disappointed when the polls had witches/wizards at the top. I mean, I'll take witches and wizards over nothing, of course, but I prefer my out-there, totally-different-creature characters as opposed to "normal Sim who acquired powers."
I've tried stories with the PlantSims, but since they're so similar to regular Sims, there's not a lot to work with. And with Seasons, it's harder to get them the sun they need to not just turn back again. I feel like PlantSims needed a sunlamp added with Seasons. Kinda the same way vampires got umbrellas. Which was awesome. :)
I'd be really happy with robots, too. And, honestly, I can't see why players who aren't big on supernaturals would dislike robots. Actual robots exist now. It's more realistic than say, the Grim reaper showing up.
So... expecting we'll at least get a magic-learning pack but staying hopeful for more.
