Been forcing my sim dude to level up baking and new options appear each time he levels but it's never the birthday cake. He's not the dad. The dad moved out. Now when he clicks on the stove the dad's name comes up and the game asks me if I want to hire dad as a, I forgot, baker or caterer or something. Why would the game want to hire my played sim? That might turn my played sim into a townie? Why wont it let the live in roommate cook a cake?The birthday girl is an infant newborn I just wanted to get things ready. Is it because she's a vampire? An immortal?

Have you looked under the cooking option, believe it or not, cakes are not actually under the baking option. Hope that helps.

I just discovered that even if you bake one of the cakes under the baking option, you can't put candles on it! You HAVE to use one of the cakes under the cooking option as a birthday cake. Disappointing and silly.

Aging up newborns is an option on the bassinet :)sorry for all the trouble but now you know for your next sim!

No option to bake a birthday cake.

Have you looked under the cooking option, believe it or not, cakes are not actually under the baking option. Hope that helps.

This is correct, it’s because baking came from an EP, so they kept baking a cake under cooking. Annoys me everytime, “cook a cake” but ?‍♂️

If OP plays with aging off, they won't.

Ohhh, so I'm suppose to make a regular chocolate or vanilla cake and after putting it on the table I can add candles. I didn't know this. I was looking for something in stove/frig called "Birthday Cake." ?

There was no option to age up the newborn. This was pointless. ???

And yeah, I've always found it weird the cakes are under "cook" instead of "bake" but apparently the baking skill is from the Get to Work pack which I'd completely forgotten. I thought it was base game but I guess not. So that's probably why, but it's still weird.
