Normal Life!

Sorry if I have typos, but english is not my native language.
It's not lockdown here yet, but there is much to think about all the time. I go to work everyday. I have spent many hours a day creating protective visors for the local hospitals and man am I tired. Fortunely I don't have energy left for anything social when I'm home again. But this is driving me crazy aswell even if I like spending time alone.

I just recovered from having virus symptoms for 7 days, though without a test who knows if it was covid 19 or something else... just a cough remaining now.

To celebrate I decided to send 7 sims to uni at the same time haha. Man, has it been hectic! I have one more semester to get through before they all graduate.

@elanorbreton That had to be scary for you! Happy to know you are on the mend, but take care of that cough as best you can. A healthcare worker I know told us to drink warm liquids, including warm water, as it helps to clear your throat of any bacteria or virus that may be hanging around. I've been doing this since my allergies flared up last week and it has really helped to keep the cough under control. And I am getting plenty of walking time in because I am going back and forth to the bathroom a lot more. :D Stay well and safe. <3

Hope everyone is doing great even in difficult times! As for me, I couldn't ask for a better opportunity to hunker down in a bundle of blankets with just my PC, my homemade cappuccino, and my pet chickes (nope, not kidding. There's two of them actually. Great company!)

I managed to buy toilet rolls today. It was like striking oil. The shelves at all our local supermarkets have been stripped of them for five weeks now!

I'm a very new player – I got The Sims 4 to keep myself entertained during social isolation!

I played The Sims 1 way back in the day, though... And I occasionally re-visited my old neighborhood, until the game was too old to run on my present-day computer.

I never upgraded to later games because there was no way to import all my old families, and I was awfully attached to them. Plus, I didn't want to have to watch them age and die! (There was no aging or death from old age in The Sims 1.)

But The Sims 4 was on sale for almost nothing, and social isolation was clearly going to last a while, so I decided it was time to give it a try. And so far, I'm really glad I did! It's truly amazing to see how far the game has come over the years! Things that required mods are now basegame, and the mods go so much further, and there's just so much more detail and more options!

EA definitely knew what they were doing, giving the base game away for so cheap – they got me hooked, and I just spent quite a bit of cash on expansion and game packs :lol:

It different for everyone, of course. Just a different opinion.

Pretty much the same but I have brothers and sister and their children via phone. I can manage months without seeing anybody as long as the online shops keep coming! There don't seem enough hours in the day to get through everything, books, games, TV. trying to avoid the hoovering and washing up as the dishwasher has given up the ghost.

I'm just trying to build the ideal house in Sims 4 to self-isolate in. I've chosen that 64x64 lot in Brindlington Bay for a start and it's going to have a high security fence around it! Probably one Sim and his/her dog and cat...........

I live in the UK and am a key worker but chose to self-isolate on medical advice due to my underlying respiratory issue. My brother, who lives elsewhere in the UK, has tested positive and has to isolate.

I am managing easier than some probably because I spend my spare time gaming alone in my room anyway. And one person has been nominated to go to the shops when need be.

I'm sure the older generation suffered a great deal more during the world wars. I see it as one long period of suffering in order to emerge safely into normality. But life may never be the same again.

I'm an elderly Simmer and do remember a bit about WW2. We had to put up with food rationing until 1953 and us 4 smaller children didn't really realise the war was going on. Our parents protected us. My uncles all went on active duty but survived fortunately.

We all got through that and will get through this in time. It's a different battle for this generation but one that might change things for the better in the future.

Keep safe everybody and please do keep at least 6 feet or 2 metres apart and you might help some person of my age survive this too. They are the Silent Generation, not Baby Boomer (after 1945).

Now going back to my building of a dream property in Sims 4. I'd always dreamed of being an architect but failed my maths O level! :D <3
