not changing clothes

Question

Sometimes my sim won't change out of their nighttime or bathing suit clothes when they leave their house.  So I will often have a sim leave to go work in their pajamas (with the workoholic lifestyle going to work in off hours) and when they leave to go sit in a skills class or volunteer.    Is this a glitch or am I supposed to have them do this manually?  When the go to work in their rabbit hole they get dressed automatically.   So it seems to be a bit random.

I think they should change when leaving the house. Here is the compiled list of bug reports so far, please find if there is one made for the issue, otherwise make a new one:

Edit to add: Bugs need to be reported on a mod and CC free save of course, but you probably know that.

This probably isn't a bug. You should make them change manually if you want them in Everyday wear.

Sleepwear: Depends on the time of day. I don't know the exact hours but there's a period of time each day where Sims think Sleepwear is okay outside. My Sims don't change to Everyday clothes if I send them out to harvest plants right after they wake up but they do change if I wait a few hours.

Swimwear: Sims are always willing to go outside in swimwear. After all, the beach is outside and so are many of the swimming pools.
