Not in World Sims

Hi

Something I'm not too clear on. Do sims saved in your library count as not in world sims that will wander around your worlds? I haven't properly played yet (more of a sim maker than a player) and have started placing families and don't want random clones wandering around. I also don't want sims I'm not ready to place from the library wandering into my worlds.

  • Not in world Sims are Sims the game randomly generates to fill rolls like bartenders, and waiters (if you have Dine Out) and the like, and to just give the game a sense of being populated. But these Sims can only be located in your manage households tab. You won't find them living in the houses in your neighborhoods.

    Thank you for your reply
  • Not in world sims are sims that do not live in houses and the game calls on them when they are needed for like festivals and such. Game also is more likely to cull them when they are not needed unless they have special programming like entertaining or buster or workers - etc.
  • Yeah, it becomes kind of a problem when you have duplicate NPC's in your game as the result of populating a lot with a family while retaining an original copy of the family in My Library.
  • If you have MCCC, make sure you have the options to pull from your library off. MC Population (Computer)>Populating Settings>Import Tray Settings

Thank you! I do have that, I'm glad to know Deaderpool included that option.
  • With MCCC you can use the #mccc_ include option. That way you can label the households in your gallery that you want it to use. Also you can have it check the name and not use any from the library with the same name.
  • Yes and make sure you don't have sims change their name when they marry or you will get duplicates as the game only recognises a sims current name. I do pull my npcs from my tray and have only had 2 or 3 duplicates because of marriage name changes saved in the library. But none caused by Mccc making a mistake and I have 4 or 5 versions of some of my favourite sims in my library. I set mine to 25 percent random npcs as I like to see new (if poorly dressed) faces. And clothes are easily changed.
