It would be fun for Sims to touch the hot lava and burn up. >:) But I am going to assume those friendly islanders will probably save the Sim. (just guessing) And then I know someone will want it patched out, and it will become a very rare thing in about a month's time as it gets patched out. So, I expect the volcano not to be worth much after that, by the time they patch this EP.
