It's Winterfest in my game. There are four Child Sims, a Toddler Sim and one infant. Since the infants are merely objects, I'm not too concerned about that. However, the four eldest Child Sims had their chance to 'ask for present' from Father Winter. Even some of the YAs and Teens, too. However, little Andrew must have asked at least five times. Father Winter would gaze at him, as if he heard the request, but I'm thinking he can't interpret Babble. At any rate, I did a debug on Father Winter, hoping it was just him. No, that didn't get little Andrew the gift he so sweetly asked for. Instead, it merely sent Father Winter on his escape route, via the parents' bedroom fireplace.
Poor, wee Andrew. I feel so sorry for the little guy. And this isn't the first of my Toddler Sims who got dissed by Father Winter. I think he should be able to understand Babble. It's just another language, or almost language, after all. The general gist should be well understood. I say we all Protest Father Winter. We'll show him by not inviting him to Winterfest from here on out. What do you say, are you with me?
You're right that is messed up. If anybody should understand toddler babble it should be the one who still has the innocent soul of a child within them. That's how I always thought of Father Winter/Santa. He may be an adult but he has at least a portion of his soul that still has that childlike innocence and sense of wonder and joy. Surely he can speak the language of any child.
