Occult Sims

Does anyone know why there is a lack of them? Did I miss a memo why this is?
I really enjoyed this aspect of simming. Does anyone know if there are any rumors of adding more?
I am saddened by Sims4 version of a Plantsim.

  • While I'm not crazy about occult sims, I wouldn't mind witches.

Fine, but even if that is true, it pushes Witches to December - February. Not September - October.

Actually, they generally start on the next pack when one pack is about done - so you need to go back to when they announced the last pack - like a couple weeks before a GP was to come out, and eps even a couple months before they announce them - some of which may even overlap time. Like JA was released Feb 27 - they probably started on the next GP a couple weeks before it came out even. Some of us has figured it should be ready to release in mid-late October if it was started in early Feb and took the full 8-9 months easily. But only time will tell.

9 months before JA came out we got Parenthood GP (May 30th).

The polls didn't start just after the release of Jungle Adventure. They put them out after Seasons was out. This means it took them over a month to decide to do something occult and do some stuff that is fitting for all the occults in the poll? Doesn't really work, does it?
No, that would mean the Poll was about what Occult to make AFTER GP7 is released, and GP7 is not occult related.

Also, after many Devs were fired and the remaining Devs are internally reorganizing in order to adapt, the release patterns that existed thus far may not be an Indicator anymore. But with that Information and the pattern we had so far, it wouldn't be 9 months, but rather 18.
Mid Summer or early Fall 2019.
Those internal changes that are going on could also mean more and better Gamepacks each year, but I don't see why we should just assume a best-case scenario. I figured, expecting the worst plausible scenario and then being pleasantly surprised when it turns out better than expected is better than expecting all my dreams to come true and then being disappointed that it didn't deliver on my expectations.

Something to bear in mind, if he did a 'what occult next' poll without putting witches on it, that would've started a HUGE flurry of 'OMG WITCHES SOON!!!!!111!!' that I can't imagine would've been smiled upon. They could well have started a witches GP before that poll (as anyone who has even slightly glanced at this forum can see people who like occults REALLY want witches), but it was way too early to acknowledge it.

Not saying they did! But it's not impossible.

If they were already doing Witches, why put out a poll in the first place? And why so soon after Seasons? The Focus was still Weather and there was Talk about farming. The Occult Poll didn't fit thematically into the Seasons Talk. And what if Witches didn't win? Either the poll would have to be manipulated in order to favor the one that is already in the works if it wasn't actually winning, which would render the information gathered from it almost useless because many people tend to follow the heard or the release of Witches, again assuming they didn't win, would make the community think the Poll was meaningless and just teasing, and it would cause an outrage.
If they were already working on witches when the poll came out, they must have already been very sure about what the results would be, because if there was a chance that the results were different than expected, the poll would cause way more harm than good to them. And in this case, why do a poll, if you already know everything that poll could tell you, other than to tease? And too much time has passed without an announcement for it to be a real tease.
Simply not adding the occult they are already working on would have been a confirmation. I agree.
Unless they are actually working on a Plantsim Overhaul. Or Mummies. Or Bigfoot.
The Polls had Werewolves, Robots, Fairies, Imaginary friends, Mermaids, Witches and two more I can't remember, but I think it might be Zombies and Genies. Everything else is simply not obvious enough. And was, for a large part, not really popular.
Unless the poll was actually for them to decide what Occult to do in what order, what Occults to skip entirely and what occult to start working on right now.
Witches are coming, but they aren't near completion and in the bug fixing and fine-tuning phase. I think the concept arts are finished and the features are currently being discussed. No CAS or Build Mode object or gameplay animation has been created yet. We are lucky if they have placeholders for the Witch hidden trait and the lot traits.

Edit: Here on the Forum, Werewolves are popular too. Similar to Witches even. In the Twitter poll, Werewolves made second to last. (I think) So, not really a safe bet.
